A holland DJ Ramses Hoppa már több mint 20 éve zenél. A '80-as évek végén Reaggie DJ-ként kezdte Amszterdamban, majd a '90-es években Goa Trance-t játszott. Egész Európát beutazta, így nagyobb bulikat csinált Hollandiában, Németországban, Portugáliában, Magyarországon, Szerbiában és Macedóniában. 2000-ben visszaköltözött szülővárosába, Amszterdamba, ahol olyan partikon játszott és olyan partikat szervezett mint a Silo, Trance Buddha, Mazzo, stb. Kelet-európai utazásai során rengeteg helyi zenét gyűjtött össze, amelyeket akkor esküvőkön, privát születésnapi bulikon játszott. Mivel ezek a partik mindig vadakká váltak, úgy döntött, ebben a stílusban fog játszani klubokban is, így létrehozta az ún. Balkan Beat stílust. Hoppa!Collective, Hoppa!Selector és Ramses Hoppa néven Hollandia majdnem minden színpdán és klubjában megfordult, valamint Berlinben, Budapesten, Antwerpenben, Brüsszelben, Bécsben, Belfastban, Szkopjéban és Prágában rendszeresen fellép. Az elmúlt években többek között a Sziget Fesztiválon is fellépett. The Schorcher név alatt Techno/Trance/Breaks műfajban is zenél. Saját zenéket is szerez, valamint az Electro Swing Club Amsterdam házigazdája és a Circus Hoppa egyik alapítója.

DJ Ramses Hoppa has been DJ-ing for over 20 years now. Starting out as a Reggae DJ in Amsterdam in the late 80's he embraced the early Goa Trance scene in the mid-90's and travelled all over Europe with his recordbag and headphone. Bigger parties in Holland, Germany, Portugal, Hungary, Serbia and Macedonia he played untill settling down in 2000 for some years again in his hometown Amsterdam, where he played and organised parties at clubs like Silo, Trance Buddha, Mazzo, Vrieshuis, Melkweg and Paradiso, to name a few. During his trips to Eastern Europe he gathered a lot of the local music for his private collection, which he occasionally played on private parties, birthday parties and weddings. As this music always made the parties wild he decided to play this style, that's now being called Balkan Beat, in the clubs. Alongside not more than a handfull of DJ's in Holland he was one of the founders of this genre in the Netherlands. Under the names Hoppa!Collective, Hoppa!Selector and Ramses Hoppa he palyed at almost every stage and club in Holland, as well as parties and festivals abroad in cities as Berlin, Budapest, Antwerpen, Brussels, Vienna, Belfast, Skopje and Prague. Last few years he has played at the bigger festivals of Europe Sziget (Hungary), World Bodypainting Festival (Austria), Landjuweel (Holland) and Glastonbury Festival (England). Outside of DJ-ing Reggae and Balkan Beats he plays Techno/Trance/Breaks under the name The Scorcher. Ramses also makes and produces own music, often in combination with others like 4Tuoze Matroze (Dutch Balkan Beat), Karmahacker (Experimental Dub Reggae) and Thomas (Echoes Of Joy - Studio Dub band). Ramses Hoppa is host of Electro Swing Club Amsterdam and one of the founders of Circus Hoppa.
